..If You Don’t Like Something, Then Change It..
I didn’t like a lot of aspects of my current life. Energy. Job. Location.
I knew I couldn’t expect things to change if I didn’t change. The change was gradual, but it’s finally coming together. Let me tell you about it:
My energy levels were not to their fullest. I knew I could project so much more into the world then I currently was. So I decided to make a change. After collaborating with a friend the seed was planted and The Gypsy Karma Project was created; a social experiment encompassing fashion, random acts of kindness and love.
I practice good karma and spread some gypsy love by gifting my handmade, one-of-a-kind earrings to those I meet. It all started with my travels to Europe and the gifting to random locales, travellers and friends and since has spread to gifting anywhere and everywhere I may be. I have been employed as a Senior Accountant at one of the Big Four Audit Firms for the past 2 1/2 years. I had the opportunity to work for various business units, travel (almost too often) internationally, and I even got promoted 2 months ago. But I wasn’t happy. I felt unfulfilled and didn’t like my job, so I did the only feasible thing - I quit. I am currently on day 3 of being (temporarily)
unemployed funemployed and I feel absolutely fantastic.
I moved to Moncton, New Brunswick, 2 1/2 years ago for employment. I was recruited 8 months prior to my university graduation. Moncton has never stolen my heart and never felt like home, but I knew putting in the time at my job would be worth it in the end, and it was. But like my job, I decided to quit Moncton. I am making the move from this city in 11 days to move back home, (Halifax, Nova Scotia). But only for a month. I will then be moving to Seoul, South Korea shortly thereafter.
And here we are coming full circle - Moving to South Korea will enable me to focus more time on my blog and social experiment, obtain employment as an English teacher (currently a work in progress) and explore another coordinate on the map. Stay tuned for updates on my adventure.
